MNA endorses Obama budget plan

The 20,000 members of the MNA “hail the vision and foresight of the budget initiatives proposed by President Barack Obama today,” the union said in a statement released Thursday.

“President Obama’s plan, which includes a 10-year, $634 billion commitment to expand health care coverage for more Americans, is exactly the bold step we need to turn this economy around,” said MNA President, Linda Slattengren, RN. “Nurses see day to day how wasteful our delivery system is. By being smarter investors right now, we will save money for our future generations – and help improve the quality of life for patients and their families.”

MNA is the leading organization for registered nurses in the Midwest and is among the oldest and largest representatives of RNs for collective bargaining in the nation.
