SEIU 113 launches ad campaign about health care costs

On Tuesday, May 30, at 10:00 a.m. in Minnesota State Capitol, Room 125, members of SEIU Local 113 who work in Twin Cities hospitals will launch an advertising campaign to expose the skyrocketing cost of employee health care in our communities? hospitals.

The advertising campaign, which features the stories of SEIU Local 113 members, comes as hospital workers head back to the bargaining table on June 2 to see if area hospital CEOs will address the health care needs of their employees.

More than 3,300 hospital workers began working without a contract on March 10 after five Twin Cities hospital systems, including Fairview, North Memorial, HealthEast, Children?s and Methodist hospitals, walked away from negotiations.

Several speakers are expected at the event, including:
State Senator Linda Berglin (DFL-Minneapolis)
Sarah Landis, Minneapolis Children?s Hospital
Pam Uhlenkott, North Memorial Medical Center
Bennie Ray Cromedy, Fairview Southdale Hospital
Lori Theim-Busch, North Memorial Medical Center
Julie Schnell, President of SEIU Local 113
