A fund-raiser will take place this Saturday, Jan. 25, for the activist organization Labor Notes, whose goal is to 'put the movement back in the labor movement.'
Featured will be Dan LaBotz, author of 'The Troublemaker's Handbook.' Funds will support publication of an updated, second edition of the book; monthly publication of the Labor Notes newsletter; and the newsletter's annual conference, scheduled for September in Detroit.
Activities begin at 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at the hall of United Food and Commercial Workers Local 789, 266 N. Hardman Ave. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.
The event is sponsored by Local 789, the St. Paul Labor Speakers Club, and the Meeting the Challenge Labor Education Committee.
