A Teacher’s Perspective: It’s Time to Stand Up for Public Schools

This March, a confluence of union action and national events has brought a welcome focus to the challenges our public schools face. As a teacher, I can attest to the seriousness of problems like inadequate funding, union-busting and gun violence, but I am heartened by the activism that is starting to spring up around the country.
