Register by June 1 for the 2017 Midwest School for Women Workers, planned for July 16-20 at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

This year’s theme is “Women Rising.” The Midwest School for Women Workers brings together union women to develop leadership skills, understand the challenges and issues facing the labor movement, and share experiences. It is one of four regional schools sponsored across the United States and Canada by the United Association for Labor Education.

The East Side Freedom Library will host a discussion and panel, What’s Happening to Labor at the University of Minnesota?, on Wednesday, January 10 at 7:00 PM. Panelists will include representatives from University of Minnesota AFSCME, faculty, Teamsters Local 320, Grads United, and Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en Lucha (CTUL). The event is free and open to the public.
