Nellie Stone Johnson Scholarship Dinner is March 21

| OAKDALE - The annual Nellie Stone Johnson Scholarship Dinner, which funds student scholarships, takes place March 21 at the Prom Center in Oakdale. |
Tickets, which are $65, can be purchased by sending a request to Mitch Franklin.
Proceeds support scholarships worth $500-$2,000 per year for students of color enrolled in two-year, four-year, or master’s degree programs within the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System.
The scholarships are named for Nellie Stone Johnson, a leader in Minnesota’s labor and civil rights movements for much of the 20th century.
Through 2012, the organization has awarded more than 215 scholarships. |
