Labor Education Service offers course on Basic Arbitration

| MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota Labor Education Service is offering a one-day course on Basic Arbitration for union stewards, staff and officers. |
This non-credit Labor Studies Skills Course will be held Saturday, April 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the West Bank of the University’s Minneapolis campus. It will be taught by John Remington, an experienced arbitrator and retired Labor Education Service staff member and University of Minnesota professor.
This course covers the basic principles of evidence and preparation of witnesses, developing a theory of your case, and the principles arbitrators rely on to decide cases. It will also consider such issues as discipline, contract interpretation standards, past practices, worker rights and management rights. It is designed for those who have completed a basic steward training course.
