Workers ratify first contract at Co-op Partners Warehouse
7 October 2012
| SOUTH ST. PAUL - Workers at the Co-op Partners Warehouse (Wedge Co-op) have ratified a three-year agreement which included $1.50 wage increase over the life of the agreement and paid holidays, their union announced. |
Health Insurance, including dental and vision, was included in the agreement.
The warehouse workers voted in March to join the United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1189 to get a voice at work. The workers were supported by many Wedge Co-op members in their contract campaign and are appreciative of the support from the community.
“We look forward to building a stronger union with our new brothers and sisters at Co-op Partners Warehouse, and plan on continuing to organize food workers in processing, warehousing, and retail settings,” said Don Seaquist, president of Local 1189. |
