| PUBLIC EVENTS AT WOMEN'S SCHOOL |

Registration has closed for the 2010 Midwest School for Women Workers at the University of Minnesota, but some events will be open to the public at no charge.
From July 28 to Aug. 1, the School will bring together women from several states for general sessions, skills workshops and networking. This year’s School is hosted and organized by the Labor Education Service at the University of Minnesota.
The following events are open to women in the community:
• Workers in Struggle: Film Night 1, “Hasta La Victoria!/Until Victory is Ours,” Thursday, July 29, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Room 155 of Nicholson Hall, 216 Pillsbury Dr. SE. Watch an exciting documentary about the UE sit-in at the Republic Windows and Doors factory in Chicago and view clips from other recent economic fight-backs. All films on this night will be bilingual in English/Spanish.
• Workers in Struggle: Film Night 2, “Minnesota Labor at the Forefront,” Friday, July 30, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Room 275 of Nicholson Hall, 216 Pillsbury Dr. SE. View “The Willmar 8 Revisited,” a recent documentary about the monumental strike by eight courageous small-town Minnesota women in the 1970s. Clips from films highlighting other moments in Minnesota labor history also will be shared and discussed.
