Minneapolis teachers continue equity campaign

Members of the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers and supporters will meet Saturday to discuss their ongoing campaign to build equity in education.

The meeting will follow up on the August “March for Equity” that featured the Rev. William Barber II, leader of the “Moral Mondays” movement in North Carolina.

Saturday’s meeting will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the MFT Local 59 office, 67 8th Avenue NE, Minneapolis.

“Keep the momentum going – let’s build an equity movement that’s bigger than any of us can achieve but is attainable if we work together!” the union said in announcing the gathering.

The agenda includes social time, discussion and action planning and next steps for expanding partnerships. For more information or to RSVP call Jeff at 612-287-0265.
